# MyGymDesk Is Now a Private Limited Company — And Here's What It Means for the Future of Fitness in India

I remember the exact moment the idea clicked.
I was sitting at a gym reception in Hyderabad, watching the owner flip through a thick register to check if a member had paid last month. His phone was buzzing with WhatsApp messages from trainers asking about schedules. A member walked in, asked if her membership was still active, and the owner said — "Let me check… give me five minutes."
Five minutes to answer a yes-or-no question.
That scene kept replaying in my head. Not because it was unusual, but because it was so common. Every gym I visited had the same story. Paper registers. Excel sheets that crashed. WhatsApp groups with 200 unread messages. Trainers who had no idea how many sessions they'd done this month. Members who had no app, no portal, no way to check anything without calling the front desk.
That was early 2025. And that frustration is what became MyGymDesk.
Today, I'm writing to share something that feels both surreal and inevitable: MyGymDesk has officially been incorporated as MyGymDesk Technologies Private Limited — a company registered under the Companies Act, 2013, with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
CIN: U62013TS2026PTC213750
GSTIN: 36AAUCM7379M1ZA
If you're a gym owner or fitness studio manager reading this, you might think — "Okay, cool. But why should I care about a company registration?"
Fair question. Let me explain.
From Frustration to Foundation: A Year of Building
The fitness industry in India is massive — and massively underserved by technology.
There are an estimated 50,000+ gyms and fitness studios across the country. The overwhelming majority run on some combination of pen-and-paper, Excel, generic accounting software, and WhatsApp. A few use imported tools like Mindbody or Glofox, but those platforms were designed for American and European markets. They don't understand UPI. They don't integrate with WhatsApp. They charge in dollars. And their support teams have never heard of eSSL biometric devices.
So we set out to build something different. Not a "gym software" that's actually just billing software with a gym label slapped on. A real, complete operating system — designed from day one for Indian gyms and fitness studios.
In about a year, we've shipped more than I thought possible. Over 175 database tables. 95+ backend functions. Three full portals — for owners, staff, and members. Native mobile apps on both the App Store and Google Play. Biometric device integration that talks to eSSL machines sitting in your reception. A payroll module that calculates PF, ESI, and Professional Tax. WhatsApp automation that sends payment receipts to members at 6 AM before they've even had their chai.
We built all of this without venture capital. Without a 50-person engineering team. Just relentless focus and an honest obsession with getting things right for the people who use it.
Incorporation is what happens when you stop being a scrappy experiment and start becoming infrastructure. When gym owners trust you with their member data, their payment records, their trainer schedules — you owe them a formal structure. A registered entity. Legal accountability. That's what this step is about.
Why This Matters If You Run a Gym or Fitness Studio
Your Data Deserves a Formal Guardian
Let's be real — as a gym owner, you're trusting your management platform with sensitive information. Member phone numbers, addresses, payment history, health data, attendance records. Your trainers' commission structures. Your revenue numbers.
Before incorporation, MyGymDesk was already built with serious security. Every gym's data is completely isolated using Row Level Security in our database — your data is invisible to every other gym on the platform. Our infrastructure runs through Cloudflare, and payments are processed through Razorpay's PCI-compliant gateway.
But there's a difference between building secure technology and being a legally accountable entity that has formal obligations to protect your data. As a Private Limited Company, we now have both. Our financials are audited. Our directors are legally responsible. If something goes wrong, you're dealing with a registered company — not a solo developer's side project.
That's the kind of trust you should demand from any platform you hand your business data to.
We're Not Going Anywhere
I talk to gym owners every week, and one of the most common concerns — especially with newer software companies — is: "Will you still be around in two years?"
It's a valid question. The SaaS graveyard is full of products that launched with a splash and disappeared within 18 months. Gym owners who migrated their data to those platforms were left stranded, scrambling to move everything to yet another tool.
Incorporation is our answer to that question. We're a registered company now — with a formal structure, a growing team, and a roadmap that stretches years ahead. We're not building this to flip it or abandon it. We're building it because the Indian fitness industry deserves technology that actually works for them, and nobody else is doing it right.
The Bigger Vision: What We're Actually Building
If all we wanted to do was replace your Excel sheet, we'd have stopped a long time ago. The ambition here is much larger.
A Complete Operating System for Indian Fitness Businesses
When I say "complete," I mean it. From the moment a potential member walks into your gym as a lead, to the moment your trainer receives their commission — every step should flow through one platform. No juggling between three apps and two spreadsheets.
Here's what's already live and working today:
For Gym Owners & Fitness Studio Managers:
For Trainers & Staff:
For Your Members:
What's Coming Next
We don't believe in keeping our roadmap a secret. Here's what we're actively working on:
ISO 27001 Certification — International information security certification. For gym chains and enterprise clients, this will be a formal validation that we take data protection seriously.
Smarter Analytics — We want to tell you which members are likely to churn before they do. Which time slots are underutilized. What your revenue will look like next quarter. Not just reports — predictions you can act on.
Deeper WhatsApp Automation — Class reminders, birthday wishes, feedback collection, renewal nudges. WhatsApp is where your members live. We're going to make it the most powerful channel in your gym's communication stack.
Payroll Module (Beta Live) — Full salary management built for Indian fitness businesses. PF, ESI, Professional Tax calculations. Commission integration for trainers. Payslip generation and bank file export. Because your trainers and staff deserve to get paid correctly without a CA doing manual calculations every month.
Built for India — Not Adapted for India
There's a big difference between software that was "localized for India" and software that was built here, for here.
Most gym management tools you'll find were created for American or European markets and then awkwardly translated for India. They support Stripe (not Razorpay). They send emails (not WhatsApp). They format currency in dollars. They've never heard of eSSL or ZKTeco biometric devices. They don't know what CGST and SGST mean.
MyGymDesk isn't localized. It's native.
Our currency formatting uses the Indian lakh/crore system. Our phone inputs expect 10-digit mobile numbers. Our payment gateway is Razorpay with UPI, because that's how India pays. Our notifications go through WhatsApp, because that's where your members actually respond. Our biometric integration works with the devices you can buy at Nehru Place or SP Road, not enterprise hardware from Honeywell.
When we built the invoice system, we didn't just add a GST toggle. We built proper CGST/SGST/IGST calculation based on state codes, with HSN codes, and support for both inclusive and exclusive tax. Because we know that one phone call from your CA asking "where's the tax breakup?" shouldn't ruin your afternoon.
This matters because software that truly understands your workflow disappears into the background. You stop thinking about the tool and start thinking about your business. That's the goal.
A Note to Fitness Studio Owners
I want to speak directly to those of you running Yoga studios, Pilates studios, CrossFit boxes, martial arts academies, dance fitness studios, and functional training centers.
I know the perception. "Gym software" sounds like it's for big commercial gyms with rows of treadmills and a juice bar. That it won't fit your 20-mat Yoga studio or your 15-person reformer Pilates room.
MyGymDesk was built for you too.
Our class scheduling system handles session-based packages — where members buy 10 classes, not a monthly unlimited pass. We support multi-instructor scheduling, waitlists for popular classes, capacity limits per session, and mixed models where some members are on unlimited plans while others are on class packs.
With the new PT Session Booking system we launched this month, personal training and one-on-one sessions work exactly like class booking — calendar-based, schedule-first, with the option for members to self-book from their phone. Whether you're a Yoga studio offering private sessions or a CrossFit box with personal coaching add-ons, the system adapts.
Studios are the fastest-growing segment of the Indian fitness industry. You deserve tools that were built with your model in mind, not bolted on as an afterthought.
The Team Behind MyGymDesk
I'll be honest — we're small. And at this stage, that's intentional. Every person on the team has to care deeply about the product and the people who use it. There's no room for passengers.
But small doesn't mean standing still. We're aggressively hiring and building out our core team right now — engineering, product, operations, and customer success. The kind of people who get excited about solving real problems for real business owners, not just writing code for the sake of it.
If you've ever worked in fitness technology, SaaS, or enterprise software — and you believe Indian fitness businesses deserve better tools than what exists today — we'd love to hear from you. Keep an eye on our careers page. The best time to join a company is when it's still small enough that your work actually shapes what it becomes.

Thank You
To every gym owner who signed up in those early days when half the features were still rough around the edges — thank you. You didn't just use the product. You shaped it with your feedback, your bug reports, your late-night WhatsApp messages saying "this one thing isn't working," and your patience while we fixed it.
To every trainer who opened the staff portal on their phone at 5:30 AM, marked sessions complete between clients, and told us "this is so much better than the notebook" — that kept us going on the hard days. More than you know.
To every member who booked a class through the app, scanned their QR code at the door, or paid their fees through a WhatsApp payment link — you proved that the member experience matters just as much as what the owner sees on their dashboard.
This milestone belongs to all of you as much as it belongs to us.
MyGymDesk Technologies Private Limited is here. Registered, accountable, and more committed than ever.
We're just getting started.
